Holding demonstration in front of Court House, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

We, Mon people in Fort Wayne will hold demonstration in front of  Fort Wayne’s Court House on June 1, 2013 in order to commemorate  “Mon Kingdom Hongsawatoi Fallen Day/Holocaust Memorial Day of Mon People.”

According to lunar calendar, this June 1st will be the 256Hongsawatoi Fallen Day.  Two hundred and fifty six years ago, hundred thousands of Mon people in lower Burma were executed with holocaust by Burmese ruler, Aung Zeya. Killings and executions of ethnic groups still continue under the current Burmese regime in Burma, especially in Kachin and Shan States.  Thus, on June 1st, we, Mon people in Fort Wayne, will hold a demonstration in front of Court House with the following

the anniversary of Mon Kingdom

1. To stop war in Kachin and Shan States

2. To stop human rights abuses in ethnic areas

3. To release all political prisoners

4. To amend 2008’s constitution

5. To stop land confiscation in ethnic area

6. To grant teaching Mon language in schools
